I was in Gettysburg this past weekend (Aug. 29-31, 2008) and couldn't help but notice a fresh grave in the Old Alms Cemetery. Date of burial was early 2008. This grave had settled dramatically and has not been filled in even though a large pile of soil is near (and I assume came from) the grave. This is inexcusable.

Why are the graves lined like that? Is there a story behind it?
