Flight From Rome To London

Never have your sister tell you "how unwell she is", then have her sit in front of you on the flight to London. I poked her several times, before she told me "she was still alive".

Alps and British Airways

British Airways is by far the best airline, I have even flown with. Not only was the staff courteous and respectful, but helpful and pleasant. And can I just say "Hot Meals and Free Wine"! The last time, I flew on an airline that served a hot meal was back in 1976 in route to California. The seats were comfortable and reclined back with a foot rest. We each had individual televisions with headsets and the movies offered were new releases, If you travel with children, you can expect activities just for the children as in movies or games, not to mention all children are served their meals first. In route to London, we were offered a Hot Dinner with a choice of chicken or beef, dessert, salad, tea, coffee, soda, water and wine. We were given a blanket and pillow and a small kit that contained a toothbrush and toothpaste. Warm towels were given out during the flight to refresh oneself. In the morning, we were offered breakfast. On the flight home, we received all of the above, in addition to three meals and a snack. We were given breakfast, a hot lunch with choices and one hour before landing back in Philadelphia, we were offered tea, coffee, water, soda and a sandwich with dessert. If this was coach, I cannot imagine the treatment First Class received. I highly recommend British Airways as a way to travel enough to mention it on this site.
The pictures above are of the Alps, we flew over and taken in the early morning hours of our flight in route to Venice after a layover in London.

Before Take Off

Our trip began on an overnight flight from Philadelphia to London 8pm March 20th. I came to the airport directly from work and checked in and made my way to the gate. It was the first time, I ever made it to the airport before my mother. In all seriousness, my mother is early for everything. If a flight is scheduled at 8pm, she is at the airport four hours prior sitting having coffee. On the other hand, I am the direct opposite. I usually make it just in time to race across the airport and get on the plane before take off. The first story I have in regards to our trip is my mother during security check. Though I did get picked to have a total body search via of our Homeland Security, Mother decided to argue with Homeland Security. The basis of this argument was over a 200 dollar jar of face cream, she had in a carry on bag that made its way into the trash via Homeland Security as my mother argued, "Have you any idea how much that face cream cost me?" This being said, by the woman who carried said expensive face cream in a Mickey Mouse Tote Bag. Seriously Mom, can anyone take a grown woman serious about carrying 200 dollar face cream in a Mickey Mouse tote bag? My sister pushed her along before, we would all be placed off the flight and that folks was just the beginning. As we boarded the plane, Mom called QVC to order another 200 dollar jar to be delivered to her house in Washington Crossing, so that it would be there when we got back.

LONDON

March 20th to March 30th, my mother, sister and I are heading to Italy via stop in London. We will be going to Rome, Venice, Amalfi and Naples. The best surprise of all is that it is a graduation gift for me. As my mom said, "you have worked so hard and despite everything, you managed to take those last classes needed for graduation". Thanks Mom. FYI, last class ends May 5th..
