Anglicization Of Irish Names Used In Our Family

When a name was originally spelled in Irish Gaelic then was replaced with the name in the English form it is called Anglicization of that name. Here are just a few names used in our family.

Bridget/Brigid (Brid, Bride) "High Goddess"
Kathleen (Caitlin) which we already know means Catherine.
Shaun/Shane (Sean) which we already know means John.
