Christopher and Elisabeth (Keller) Beatty resided at 4340 Dexter Street in the Manayunk Section of Philadelphia according to the 1920 Census Records. They purchased their house for 4,000 dollars.
Christopher was born on December 6, 1872 and was the son of Christopher and Elisabeth (Wander) Beatty. What is interesting about Christopher's father, he was a soldier, in the Civil War. Enlistment information along with Pension Records will follow at a later date.
In 1920 Christopher is listed as living with his wife, Elisabeth who was the second eldest daughter of my great great grandfather, John G. Keller and my great great grandmother Elisabeth (Voigt) Keller.
Also listed in the home were their children, Christopher (21y), twins Mary and Minnie (18y), and Ralph (13y).
Christopher's occupation listed was "Crane Operator" at the American Bridge Company (formerly Pencoyd). His son Christopher was listed as an "Engineer" at an Iron Works, which was probably American Bridge.
Christopher Beatty's Military Records indicated that he registered for the World War I draft on Sept 12, 1918. The records gave his physical description; brown eyes, black hair, medium height and built.
By the 1930 Census Records, Elisabeth (Keller) Beatty was deceased and Christopher lived in the same home on Dexter Street with his youngest child, Ralph.
Copies of records to follow.
