Arrival in Rome

Rome is like every other city with the exception of its variety of the very old and the very new, the mixture of Roman gods and Catholic faith. Walking the streets of Rome, I discovered some of the finest shops for clothes, shoes, and gold. The people walk fast. It reminded me of New York City. When we arrived in Rome, we were greeted by several taxis and very aggressive taxi drivers. Though our hotel was a short four block walk, we were talked into taking a taxi from a guy who grabbed one of our bags and raced up the street with the three of us chasing after him. I do not know what was going through my mother or sister's mind, but I thought the guy stole the bag. Like the fools we are we chased after him then jumped in his car not knowing if he was a con man or a taxi driver. Just envision a man with a bag racing up a cobblestone road and three tourists racing after him carrying our other bags. Funny thing was none of us were frighten. On the contrary, we were laughing so hard, we could barely run. Once we made it to the car and jumped in, we had no choice but to hold on for dear life as the man whipped around turns and up and down streets around circles and what made my sister and I laugh was the fact that every car we passed had the markings of being side swiped and these same cars were parked in all matter of fashion. Welcome to Rome. We must be in New York City.
