Mothers

I recall Rose Kennedy saying once to Jackie Kennedy that it was the mother who held the family together. It is true. The family unravels and falls apart if the mother does not hold it together. Mothers are not perfect creatures or have any special powers. However, I believe there is nothing more powerful than a mother's love. Of course, there are mothers out there who do not care and rather toss their children aside. I have seen it more times than I would have liked. Truth be told, I think fathers do not have the same emotional connection as mothers when it comes to children. Though, I believe in some instances this is not correct. I look at my eldest son who is so involved with his boys, I see that his father taught him a great lesson. When I hear how much my youngest son misses his daughter and that as a grown man sleeps holding her bear and using her blankets, I know his heart breaks. If he did not love her, he would not hurt so much. I witnessed the pain my middle son felt when his baby girl died in utero. He never got to hold her. I wish I had a magic wand and could sprinkle fairy dust to make it better, but I cannot. I can only offer my love, encouragement, strength, and hope. I do believe time will heal and things will be as they are suppose to be.
