Exercise "A Word I Fear The Most"

Cancun 2005

I have to be honest, brutally honest. I hate anything that has to do with exercise. Even the word said in my presence makes me shiver with that icy cold feeling you can only experience in a Philadelphia Blizzard.

I have a friend who exercises each and every day, rain or shine or even during a snow storm. Everyday she tells me all the details from the previous day's agenda. She explains in great detail how many miles she walked after she worked an eight hour day. How much time she spent on the treadmill. What equipment she used and for how long at the gym. I rarely ever see the girl eat anything more than salad, let alone a slice of anything that resembles a cake.
But I have to admit, she can still wear a bikini and she looks great in it. (we spent a week in Cancun last fall)

Now for myself; anything that resembles working out is torture. To me, a salad is the beginning of the meal not the meal itself. And yes, I love anything that resembles a slice of cake . Of course, my bikini days were also over a long time ago.

Well, things have got to change. Painfully change, I may add. I am nearly out of surgery two weeks and I have sadly noticed that I lost the muscle tone in the upper part of my right arm. To call it "lost" muscle tone is just the more pleasant word for "blubber".

I am now required to do something I dread the most.

It is called exercise.

With weights.

How ever will I survive?
